Elementor Essential is $49 a year, Advanced Solo $99, Advanced $199, Expert $399. Their own pricing page says it plainly: Elementor does not include hosting, and you use it “on any compatible WordPress hosting provider”. So it is a third bill on top of two others, for a page builder you still operate yourself.

Where they are better
Elementor gives you pixel control inside WordPress, and that is why people buy it.
If the site has to live on WordPress — because of a plugin, a client, or a team that already knows it — Elementor is the sensible way to build it and there is no argument here. This is for the person who is on WordPress only because that is what they were handed, and who is paying three bills to change a headline.
The part that matters in year three
A subscription is rent on your own website.
A builder charges every month for as long as the site exists, and the site stops existing when you stop paying. Here you get a normal git repository from the first turn — host it anywhere, hand it to any developer, or keep it with us. Nothing about it is specific to us, which is the whole point and also the reason we have to keep earning it.
