Looking for a Replit alternative

Replit charges by effort. Nobody can price effort.

Replit Core is $20 a month with “$20 towards most powerful models”, and the work is priced after it happens. If you have ever finished a session unsure what it cost, that is the reason — and it is the one thing this is built to be the opposite of.

The short version

Replit, in three questions.

Know the cost before you run it

Choose the model

Replit: Not published — Us: 300+, each priced

Unused allowance

Replit: Not published — Us: You pay for what ran

The Replit column is quoted from their own published pages on the dates given on the full comparison, not characterised. Where their page does not answer a question the cell says so — on a table whose headline is that nobody publishes the price, that is the answer. Check every cell against their site; that is the point of writing it this way.

Where they are better

Replit runs the code in the browser, and that is genuinely good.

A whole development environment in a tab, with no install, is a real advantage and this does not try to be that. If what you want is somewhere to write and run code interactively, Replit is the better answer. This is for somebody who wants the finished thing built and online, and wants to know what each step cost.

The question that decides it

A dollar is a unit you already understand.

Credits are a currency with no published exchange rate. Here the unit is a dollar: what the model provider charged us plus 20–30% — 30% on the trial, Amelia’s Chat AI and Pro, 28% on Pro Plus, 22% on Pro Max — with that rate under the composer before you send and what the answer cost printed on the answer. Free to start with no card, building plans from $10 a month billed annually, and a spending limit on from day one.

And if you want to know who is making these claims: a software company that has shipped for other businesses since 2005.

Questions

Asked, answered

Is there a Replit alternative that shows the price before each build?

Amelia's Agent puts the model's rate under the composer before you send and prints what the answer actually cost on the answer. Replit bills in effort that is priced after the work has happened.

Can I choose which model runs my build?

Yes — 300+ models, each with its published price shown before you spend anything. Replit does not publish a model choice.

Do I get my code as a normal git repository?

From the first turn, not as an export at the end. Replit syncs to GitHub, which is the same idea arrived at from the other direction.
