The design
Retrieval, not replay.
The obvious way to keep this promise is to put everything we know into every request. That makes each turn cost more the longer you have used the product — the best customers become the most expensive ones, and a plan that felt generous at signup stops covering them a few months in.
So a turn gets only the notes that match what you actually asked, under a hard character budget. The budget is the point.

Readable and deletable
Every note is visible and any one can be removed. A memory you cannot inspect is not one you would trust with a business.
Bounded on purpose
Up to 200 notes per project, newest kept, near-duplicates refused. Without a bound, one repeated fact crowds everything else out of the budget.
Alongside it
And a record of what you asked.
Every conversation is recorded against the project it was about, with what it cost. Not a flat chronological list you have to decode — work on a particular thing, grouped by that thing, so "what did I ask for last time" has an answer and the bill can be audited line by line.

Does a long project get more expensive?
No. Only the few notes matching your request are sent, under a fixed character budget, so cost per turn stays flat as history grows.
Can I see what it remembers?
Yes. Every note is readable and any note can be deleted.
