Looking for a Claude Code alternative

All of the agent. None of the terminal.

Claude Code may be the best coding agent a developer can run — and it assumes you have a machine, a terminal, and the habit of living in one. Claude's Pro plan ($17 a month billed annually) includes it. The person it excludes is everyone else, and that is who this page is for.

The Claude Code column is quoted from their own published pages as read on 2026-08-31, not characterised. Where their page does not answer a question the cell says so — on a table whose headline is that nobody publishes the price, that is the answer. Check every cell against their site; that is the point of writing it this way.

Where they are better

If you live in a terminal, Claude Code is excellent.

For a developer working in their own repository with their own toolchain, Claude Code is a first-class agent and this page will not pretend otherwise. The honest split: developers who want an agent inside their workflow should try it. People who want the finished thing — built, online, owned — without acquiring a workflow first are who Amelia's Agent is built for. Developers get their own door too: your repo, your model, your machine.

The question that decides it

A dollar is a unit you already understand.

Credits are a currency with no published exchange rate. Here the unit is a dollar: what the model provider charged us plus 20–30% — 30% on the trial, Amelia’s Chat AI and Pro, 28% on Pro Plus, 22% on Pro Max — with that rate under the composer before you send and what the answer cost printed on the answer. Free to start with no card, building plans from $10 a month billed annually, and a spending limit on from day one.

And if you want to know who is making these claims: a software company that has shipped for other businesses since 2005.

Questions

Asked, answered

Do I need to know how to use a terminal?

No — that is the point of this page. You describe what you want in plain English on the web or phone app, a machine is started for you, and the result is built, previewed and published without a command line existing anywhere in your day.

Can I still use Claude models?

Yes — Claude is among the 300+ models available, each with its published price shown before you spend. Recommendations per kind of job come from measured builds.

What if I am a developer?

Then compare honestly: Claude Code in your terminal is excellent. Amelia's Agent adds a machine per session, one-click publishing, a database, and per-turn pricing — see the for-developers page and decide with real numbers.
